Happy Monday, everyone!
At some point in their lives, we all face a challenge that seems to be hard to reach. Sometimes slowly reaching our goals is the best way to succeed. If we push ourselves too hard, too fast, and have too high of expectations, we can burn ourselves out and quit. That is a reflection of poor character. When we exhaust ourselves so early on in the process, we can end up worse off than before we even started. What character traits come to mind when you think of a successful person? Whether they are a great athlete, someone who is financially successful, an A-student, etc., there are common character traits needed to be successful in everything they do.
- Good Composure
- Honesty and Integrity
It is so important to have faith and believe in ourselves, of course. But, there is a fine line between setting ourselves up for failure and setting ourselves up for the long haul. We need to know and understand that we have a challenge to face and that it is not going to be easy. Therefore, our good character traits shine through. We use our strong determination to push forward and to not call it quits when the going gets tough. We commit ourselves and use our drive and discipline when things are not easy. We must have a realistic mindset and know that we cannot be perfect all of the time. So, when we lose or fail, instead of having bad composure or quitting; we rise above and take it as a lesson learned for next time.
This week, I challenge everyone to pick a good character trait to work on developing more. First, realize what it is you want to change. Next, learn and understand why you need to improve it. Finally, try to break your patterns of behavior for a better outcome.
Have a wonderful week!
